Tui Rose originally from down-under New Zealand, has been a Registered Nurse for 35 years, specializing in cardiology. She also worked as a private volunteer hospice nurse. As a traveling nurse in the early 1970’s, Tui personally served Sir Winston Churchill’s ailing wife, Lady Clementine Churchill as her private nurse in London. It was on her travels around the world that she continued her hobby as a handy hint collector, a passion she and her family maintained since a teenager, and especially as a young mother of two children.
Tui became an avid practical user of these household hints to make her homemaking responsibilities easier, cheaper, faster, simpler, and safer. More importantly she could overcome her challenges and get her chores done with ease, having more fun time left for the family, or simply to relax, recharge her energy, or manage her craft and hobby shop. Tui’s personal specialties became, “new uses for old stuff; fix it before you nix it tasks; grandma’s old wisdom; cleaning and stain removal, laundry tips, least-toxic pesticides and healthy living.”
After Tui was tragically widowed as a young mother of two in her early 30’s, she settled to live in USA in the early 1980’s with her children. There she researched for over a decade the detrimental effects of synthetic and toxic home and garden chemicals on the health of adults, children and pets. Then after a few years of spinal surgery and setbacks, Tui used her time fruitfully and began a new career as an author. As she turned her hint collection hobby into a book, she found herself eliminating harmful toxic tips and using only natural and least-toxic solutions.
Further, Tui revealed her research – news reports on alarming health facts caused by home and garden chemicals of which even many of the medical profession are not well educated. In particular she exposed that which the chemical industry does not want you to know about – the detrimental effects on our health of harmful pesticides in our homes. This information came from prestigious medical and scientific sources and is revealed in a whole chapter of her first book: "Going Green" Home & Garden Solutions . This book was given three fabulous endorsements and a Foreword written by a well known Houston doctor, (Environmental Toxicologist and Auto Immune Specialist); a family doctor who specializes in wellness medicine, and a homeopathic veterinarian, who specializes in pet care and education without toxins. The cleaning chapter of Tui’s book became a book of its own, entitled: The Ultimate All Natural Cleaning & Household Tips Guide chosen by Sylmark as a companion product for an infomercial on the Wagtail Mop.
